On Sunday mornings, worship begins at 9:45 AM, with pre-worship music beginning at approximately 9:30am. Worship is offered both in-person AND online through our Facebook Page. Worship is preceded by Sunday School, which we refer to as Sunday morning Christian Education or Faith Formation. It begins at 8:30 AM.
While the worship style is a blend of both traditional and modern, people of all ages and religious traditions find it to be relevant, refreshing, and meaningful. Even so, the service is more traditional, than contemporary. As for music, both the organ and piano are used weekly and occasionally, worship music may be supplemented with guitars, flutes, chimes, and brass instruments.
On the Music Ministry page, you will find a more complete description of the various choirs and opportunities to serve and participate in the music ministry of Starview UCC.
In addition to Sunday morning worship, many special services are held throughout the year. Pentecost is one such Sunday. Pentecost is often called the BIRTHDAY of the Church and celebrates the story of how, through the power of the Holy Spirit, the church is gifted with the identity and an authority centered in the proclamation of the Gospel. In addition to special worship services there are many fellowship and fundraising events. A list with a few of the many special services can be found here.
Children are always welcome (and encouraged) to stay, in the sanctuary with a guardian, for the entire worship service. We believe that children are not the "future of the church", but instead, are a valued and important part of the church community NOW. We believe that it is by experience and practice that they we all grow in our faith, theology (the study and understanding of God), and spiritual disciplines such as prayer. However, a Safe Sanctuary certified nursery attendant is available and present for children, aged 5 years and under.
Every Sunday morning, when we meet in person, prior to the service, everyone is invited to gather between 9:20 AM and 9:40 AM for a time of fellowship. Light refreshments are served. We welcome the opportunity to worship with you and hope to see you soon.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
As we anticipate the upcoming season of possible inclement weather, there are a few reminders regarding Sunday morning worship during these times.
There are multiple ways that you can locate the information about Sunday morning worship services - specifically, if BOTH in person and virtual will be offered or if the service will be held virtually, ONLY.
A decision will be made by 8 PM on SATURDAY evening, by a team consisting of the Council President, Worship Chair, Music Director, and Pastor Laura. Their decision will be based on the weather information available to them at that time, realizing that the weather may change and be inaccurate by the next morning. Even so, the decision made on Saturday evening, will NOT change on Sunday morning. The decision made Saturday will stand.
